Entirely too quiet on the Gillnet!  What is everyone up to?  JoAnn, Pat and her twins arrived on Thursday and they are staying with us.  It is kid central!  Everyone is having a great time.  The children are going from the trampoline, to the pool, to playing with the toys to a movie, and back to the trampoline.  I am certain they will talk about this ummer for years to come.

We are all going to PEI for the long weekend.  Usually we go longer, but with us having access to the cottage in Bay du Vin, it is hard to justify going any further.

Hello Mary Ellen,

Sounds like you are having a busy summer.  Was talking to the folks, Kingston just headed back to Florida following a great vacation on the river.  Dad was saying the Co-op's first strike has been settled after weeks of picket lines along Lawlor Lane - must have been quite the sight.  Kevin is taking an RCMP break and I hear he has been doing his best to try and catch a salmon each morning at some pool upriver.  Will arrives home in a couple weeks and plans to kick around for much of August. I am now hoping to get home in September if all goes according to plan.

Very hot in these parts, no significant rain in recent weeks, the weather certainly seems to be screwy everywhere this year.

Victoria is enduring 30 degree weather and some humidity.  Whew!  It can be tough - thank god for air conditioning.

GILL NET BLACKS OUT!
Hello all.  We lost our server down in the states and the old Gill Net has been knocked off the air.  It appears we pretty well have everything back in order and thanks to Tom Kingston for creating gillnetlodge.com.   The only area remaining to tend is restoration of a better guestbook.   For now, when you click on the Moose, simply fill in your name and your note and hit submit.  Your note will be posted on a message board and I'll simply paste it back in here.

am so glad the website is up and running again.  I cannot believe that summer is coming to a close.  Rebecca is with me at the college this week as she is in a science and engineering camp.  After this is over there will only be a couple of weeks until the start of school.  I am having a hard time adjusting with the fact that Katie-Rose will be starting school.  She is so young.  There may be a way out as I told her that she cannot go to school if she still sucks her thumb.  I do not know whether to route for her or the thumb to win. ha!

I may be off to Calgary on Sunday.  We are partnering with a college in the Yukon and I guess Calgary is about middle ground.
