A Big Happy Birthday
to Aunt Carmel. SEPT 30th.
LOVE PATTY.
Happy Birthday
Carmel!!
HOwdy!
Brrr! Victoria is getting a taste of winter with lots a fog. I hear John Kingston will be home for a visit soon to the Miramichi. I would love to get home for a fall fish however up to my ying yang in pumpkins. As I carve polyurothane pumpkins which build up every year (they are harder to carve but last forever) I was thinking next year I could simply lay them out and plug them in three hours. Instant pumpkin success!
Hard to watch what America is going through these days. Tough times south of the 49th. They haven't bent enough yet to get the world onboard. Howard Dean for president!
Hope everyone is having a great fall. Miss seeing all the colours.

John, that is
funny. Where are all our Gill Net fans? Had a phone
call from Frankie, he is doing well after his brain operation last month.
Sarnia is still great. High of 24 today, but it has been cold.
Love Patty.
Happy Thanksgiving Day to all north of the border. We ccelebrate Christopher Columbus Day, which amounts to a day off. Our Thanksgiving Day is always the 4th Thursday in November. It is a major holiday with most people having the Friday off also. It is the biggest travel day of the year-- just before the snow flies.
All is quite festive in Boston, Red Sox and Yankees in the Championship series. Also lots of leaf peepers this weekend. The city is getting ready for next summer's Democratic National Convention. I hope the Dems nomionate a good one.
I am sure by 2004 Bush will be quite beatable. I do not see the economy getting any better or the situation in Iraq changing. There are many people here without jobs - that hurts the most.
The California Recall is certainly a wake-up call for all politicians.
Hope all is well along the Miramichi, Fred Quinn, jr.
Just got back from a wedding in the Thousand Islands. Ray & my niece Patricia McAllister married a gentleman from the Ottawa region. It was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended. The girls had a great time. Katie-Rose had a melt-down about 10:00pm on the dance floor, but Rebecca was a trooper until well after 11pm. We went on to Ottawa and the Toronto over the weekend and spent Katie-Rose's 4th birthday at the Toronto Zoo. That is quite the place and I would highly recommend it.
We are in the middle of a janitor's strike at the college, so things are getting quite smelly and we have had to close the buildings to students. I hope it is over soon, so we can get back on track.
I hope everyone
is doing well.
I was informed yesterday both local TV station's are going to do their weather standups for their evening news from my pumpkins on opening night. On another evening, they wish to have me in the studio showing the pumpkins as part of the evening news show. On the day of setup, they have asked if a camera crew can follow me around! It is getting abit nuts. The community and daily papers here are running feature stories as well and I have been busy meeting with photographers who wish to get pics of the pumpkins in advance of the event. The folks forwarded the papers from Moncton and St. John where they ran stories about the exhibit and The Miramichi Leader called at 7 am the other morning request photo's and an interview. I see the headline now, Miramichi Lad turns pumpkin carver!
In my real life
my new business has a fall home show at the same time. As I seem
to feel every year, it has been great to do however I am already looking
forward to getting my life back on November 1st..:-)
John
John....I have seen your Pumpkin Art a lot on Newsworld.
Will it be on BC/CBC and BC/CTV?
Cheers
Hi All:
I am looking forward
to seeing some pictures of the "Pumpkin Guys" creations. It is always
a treat to see them!
Halloween is
one of my favorite times of the year. Though, I always feel torn
between taking the children door-to-door and staying to attend the door
at our house. This year, Benjamin will be spiderman by night and
Tae Kwon Do boy for the Catholic school party. Monika will be Cinderella.
I have not decide as of yet what I will dress as.
Best wishes, JoAnn
I am PROUD to
be you Aunt, John, after reading that fabulous write-up. Love Aunt Patty
Hello everyone. Erin and myself are here at Mount Allison University and to get into the Halloween spirit we decided to check out the newest info about "The Pumpkin Guy" (aka Uncle John). And one of the links brought me here...I didn't know the Gill Net Lodge was still up and running. It's quite amazing that the whole pumpkin extravaganza has gotten so big. Uncle John you're awesome for putying in so much time and effort for such worthy causes. Only one question....what happened to the good ol' www.pumpkinguy.com? Hope everyone has a great Halloween.
Laura
Wow! I
see #11 has lots of team mates with height! Happy spiking!

Hi All:
Halloween was quite cold here in Edmonton relative to the past Halloweens that I have experienced across Canada. I think the day time high was -6C with lots of snow!!! It almost all weekend. We were all out playing in it last night. I am trying to embrace (or brace for) the long winter. I hope you all are not enjoying your ice and snow free roads too much!!! ;-) Best wishes, JoAnn
