I always like to be First; Happy Canada Day.
July is also a good month for a wedding; We have 37 years on July 2nd. It was a great day, very warm, 96 degrees. Mom and Monica & Bill came up from N.B., and for good measure, John V. fell and broke his arm at the motel.
Also, on July 2nd, it will be twenty years since Grandmother Kingston passed away.
Love,
Patty
Happy Anniversary
Patty and Brendan!!
Hello,
Slowly getting settled in here in Victoria. Had a great drive across much of the country and I have posted some photo's from the trip here.
I remember that tumble at six years of age when I ended up with a cast Aunt Patty.
John
Glad you made
it there safe John. Hi, Monica..
Love Patty
Well here it is
my little brother's birthday and my first time on this web-site, so Aloysius
you as always have my heart. My mother told me that when you were
a little boy--much younger than me of course by all of two years and a
BIG OLD MALE TURKEY OR GOBBLER-whatever that is was chasing you.
I told the thing "you leave him alone or I will twist your neck right around
to your crock" ahh the loyalty of your big sister. Hope you have
had a great celebration, love you loads.
Thanks for all
those nice messages for my birthday on this site.
So while I am on a roll, Monica the words I can remember to Good little Lucy are:good little Lucy tied up her hair and said on her knees her evening prayer. She did not say to the sun good-night for she saw it there in a blaze of light. The tall pink fox-glove bowed its head, the golden rod curtsied and went to bed. I can't remember any more after that.
We are enjoying
a great visit with Theresa, Hugo, Rebecca and Ryan all just back from a
year in Australia. It is wonderful to have them at home for a visit.
So it took my little brother's birthday to bring me out of the lurker mode-the
power you have!!!!!
Bernadette.
I understand that
Suzanne & Howard's baby is sick. I just hate hearing news of
babies being ill. Wishing them all the best....ME
Hello all,
Suzanne's 6 month old Magnus has been diagnosed with diabetes. They are trying to regulate the amount of insulin he requires and it is a challenge with a babe so young. Mom (Stephanie) has been to St. John to help out. Martha and Patricia have provided tons of support to Charlie 3 and Howard.
AM
I took this photo
this afternoon of where I live. The main building in the background
is the Delta Hotel Victoria and I live in one the condominiums they
have built around it. It is great. That small boat you see
is a water taxi and they will take you to where ever you wish to go!
John
Little Magnus,
I will keep you in my prayers. John are you sure you didn't win the
649 lotto? "What a view." I took the train and friend Chelsey
to Joe and Eleanors. Joe took her fishing, they caught 2 trout. Love,
Aunt Patty
Hello. I wish it so Aunt Patty! Relocation is hard on the pocketbook..:-)
I met with the Left. Governor's House here in Victoria this pm and found a great location for my pumpkins this fall. The Honourable Iona Campanolla says she is happy to display the pumpkins in late October. They will open up the grounds for the public each evening.
Sure is a hot summer in these parts.
John
John, I see your
comment about it being hot! It is all relative---Las Vegas has days
where it is 43C! It is getting cooler now 28c at 8 p.m. I do
not find the weather so bad here because everywhere you go there is AC.
The girls (Emily 11, Carolyn 14) and I are going to be flying to NB on
the 8th til the 19th. It will be great to see everyone. I am
just finshing off my year of teaching 2nd grade (school is year round here)
and will be glad for the break. I miss Canada and it's liberal policies
(legalizing Marijuana and allowing gay marriage). Bush's popularity
is going down as more Americans are dying everyday and his state of the
Union speech was misleading. Terry and I both miss Canada--the land
where people take care of each other! Well, enough of my soapbox.
Everyone enjoy your summer!
Bethy,
Living in Las Vegas, you've bascically become an American.
...A couple of news stories about Canada actually reach you in America and the next thing you know, the American perception of Canadians has gone from a country of "hunters in Igloos" to a band of "dope smokin' homos"!!
You Americans
are just too shallow.
Yes, liberalism is alive and refreshingly well north of the border. I saw Larry King last night and the guest said things were rough south of the border, because even Canada was a hyper place than America these days. Of course, he was of democratic leanings.
Although pot isn't
legal here (you still face fines), I do think that to decriminialize the
drug for small amounts of possession is wise in that it allows people to
avoid a criminial record and also saves the public purse gazillions in
prosecuting these types of offenses. As for gay marriage,
I am of the view we have ourselves a disenfranchised Vatican. :-)
