I do the carvings in a polyurethane pumpkins, it takes twice as long
however no mess and they last forever. (I also do real pumpkins
however you can only carve so many). My pumpkins have appeared at
Canada's Royal Ontario Museum for a UNICEF fundraiser. I also
present a UNICEF pumpkin for a plug on my appearances.
Again the software I use allows me to "see" the carving before I carve
it however with Jay, his real carving would look much better than image
up above. (the rest of presented pumpkins are carved.)
When I do TV interviews, they simply lower the lights and go from
pumpkin to pumpkin with one camera following another and as most people
have never seen a face they can actually recognize on a pumpkin, the
response is usually really fantastic.
