Miramichi history is rich with ghosts and strange occurrences.

We are hoping the immediate family of Samuel and Lillian would share some of those strange experiences from their past along the North West Miramichi.

This story happened when I was about twelve years old.

We had heard that our old farm house back in the CI Road was haunted.  We would often hear from the adults about strange happenings.

One night after mother, Ann Marie and I went to bed, we were
the last ones to come up stairs.  We were talking in bed when
we heard someone go slowly down stairs.  We thought
it was mother who had forgotten something down stairs.

Imagine the goose bumps when Mother came in and said "Ann
Marie I never heard you come back up stairs!"

Do I believe in Ghosts?  I believe in letting sleeping dogs lie.  In other
words, I do not want to find out!

I don't know if I believe in ghosts or not, but I definitely believe in the bond of family-- both past and present.  I came to know this when I was expecting Rebecca.

A few people may know that I lost a child prior to becoming pregnant with Rebecca.  When I was about 3 months pregnant for Rebecca  and experiencing many of the scary symptoms once again of a miscarriage, I laid on the couch all one day.  I was so scared.  Then all of a sudden I felt a weight upon my thigh and thought for sure a cat had come in and sat on me.  Then I realized we didn't have a cat any longer, but I wasn't scared any longer.

It was at that moment that I knew it was the hand of one of my deceased grandmothers laying a reasurring hand on me to let me know everything would be o.k.  and it was.

It was the first and last time I ever experienced anything like that.  However,all during that pregnancy , I had a sense that Grandmother and/or Grammy were my guardian angels.
