In addition to the intricacy of the carvings (which can somtimes take two and a half hours per pumpkin) I run hundreds of yards of x-mas lights through them - only activating bulbs inside them - the effect is very cool.  In Canada, in my third year of pumpkins, they were highlighted on both national television news networks, community television stations, the front page of three newspapers, etc. etc.  In word of mouth alone, we had hundreds of people showing up - to a point where police had to come and direct traffic in my neighbourhood.

The only fees charged to come in and see the pumpkins, was a contribution to UNICEF - the United Nations Childrens Fund...100% of proceeds to kids charity (which can be of sponsors choosing).  The show would run each evening from 6 to 10 pm weekdays, 2 to 9 pm on weekends.  There is typically themes in different areas like the noted 60's theme above where we had everything from JFK to Marilyn to the Wizard of Oz.  There is a scary theme, cartoon theme (toy story characters which kids love) etc.

Pumpkins are made from compressed sawdust - they are carvable (about twice as hard to carve compared to real pumpkins) and look exactly like the real thing.  We also use some real ones - the problem is they don't last very long and in the course of a two week show I am often carving just those everyday to simply keep existing numbers - for the public to touch and feel, etc..

Anyhow, in support of kids and for a wonderful way to spread lots of warmth at Halloween, I (a recently transplanted Canadian) would love a first class place to show them in with possible assistance with promotion.....I actually start the year's carvings in April...:)

If you could assist or know someone who can, I can be contacted at the following numbers (in my real life, I am a general manager of a high tech firm in New Jersey)
