Bill Vickers at many gatherings would often recite the following grace before meals. We referred to this as the Indian Grace.

O GREAT SPIRIT
WHOSE VOICE I HEAR IN THE WINDS
WHOSE BREATH GIVES LIFE TO THE WORLD
HEAR MEI COME TO YOU AS ONE OF YOUR MANY CHILDREN
I AM SMALL AND WEAK
I NEED YOUR STRENGTH AND YOUR WISDOM
MAY I WALK IN BEAUTYMAKE MY EYES EVER BEHOLD THE RED AND PURPLE SUNSET
MAKE MY HANDS RESPECT THE THING THAT YOU HAVE MADE
AND MY EARS SHARP TO HEAR YOUR VOICEMAKE ME WISE SO THAT I MAY KNOW THE THINGS THAT YOU
HAVE TAUGHT YOUR CHILDREN
THE LESSONS THAT YOU HAVE HIDDEN IN EVERY LEAF AND ROCKMAKE ME STRONG NOT TO BE SUPERIOR TO MY BROTHERS
BUT TO BE ABLE TO FIGHT MY GREATEST ENEMY ...MYSELFMAKE ME EVER READY TO COME TO YOU WITH STRAIGHT EYES
SO THAT WHEN LIFE FADES AS FADING SUNSET
MY SPIRIT WILL COME TO YOU WITHOUT SHAME.BLESS US O LORD
AND THESE THY GIFTS
WHICH WE ARE ABOUT TO RECEIVE
THROUGH CHRIST OUR LORD
AMEN

THE DUNGARVEN WHOPPER was a notorious Miramichi ghost story from up beyond Albert's way in Blackville and it is here.

Many a Vickers knew of my grandmother Mrs. Kingston / Grandmother Kingston. She was always excited when Junior was coming to town and she always ensured she had some of her hot rolls waiting for him.
I did a website for the Kingstons back about 8 years ago as a buildup to their 2000 family reunion and the site is here.
