There are four questions to be asked of any theory?
1) What is being measured? (i.e. what are the variables?)
2) What is being assumed and why? (i.e. what are the assumptions?)
3) What statement is being made about the variables? (i.e. what is the hypothesis?)
4) What is predicted? (i.e. what
are the predictions?)
If these four questions cannot
be answered satisfactorily, one is not using a theory.
Be sure you are working
with a theory.
